AGES: High schoolers and adults. I do make rare exception for a super-motivated middle-schooler. Also, no, you are never too old to sing!
People willing to get pushed and stretched way out of their comfort zones in order to get better!
I believe in the right fit. If you are a dabbler, meaning you are someone just wanting to dip your toes into singing training, you may prefer a more casual approach than what I offer. However, if you aren't sure what you want, not to mention which steps to take, call me! I am happy to help you find what you are looking for.
ALSO: My lesson hours are during "school day" hours only, year-round. Community adults, college students, homeschoolers/online students--we're good to go!
What does "performance" mean?
"Performance" refers to the training that we'll get into once you have your songs technically under your belt. This is where the magic really starts happening! My aim is to help all singers perform from an honest space, emotionally and intentionally. It is this kind of performance that has the potential to not only touch, but to change lives. If you are the kind of student that consistently works outside of lessons, we will get to spend some fun time in this phase together.
Do you hold group classes?
When I take on enough students in a semester, we hold regular masterclasses as a part of their tuition package.
How do I sign up?
First, book a free phone consult with me! Next, we'll hold our Fit Session, which is essentially an in-depth "consultation" lesson, where we explore your singing function, you discover how I work, and we discuss the topics and goals that you share on your intake form. If you feel like skipping straight to the Fit, you can schedule it here! After the Fit, and if we're a great match, we'll decide how to best proceed: one of my Tuition Packages or Drop-Ins.
cost/commitment?
This depends on what kind of investment into your development you are wishing to make. For high schoolers and adults, I offer Tuition Packages at three different levels.
For adults only who simply want brush-ups, an occasional coaching, or just can't be tied down to a firm schedule, I do offer Drop-Ins. These are goal-specific sessions and are reserved with a pre-paid, non-refundable retainer, ranging from $80-$105. You can do this here.
Who are you?
Hi, I'm Jen, great to meet you!
I grew up as the oldest daughter of a US diplomat and had the excellent opportunity to live in several foreign countries while growing up, sprinkled with time back in the US between posts. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, wife to composer John Moeller, and mother to two amazing daughters.
I graduated with my BFA in MusicDanceTheatre at Brigham Young University in 2000. After that, I taught voice at BYU for a year and then moved out east to Washington D.C., where I found myself commuting so often to New York for auditions that I realized I just needed to commit, and moved up to the city! I found myself in an amazing world of the most talented and generous performers and artists for the next several years as I lived the professional actor's life: auditioning, auditioning, auditioning, landing contracts that took me hither and yon, and then right back to the city for more auditioning! I married John and, when he began his PhD at Queen's University Belfast in 2007, I decided it was time for my Master's degree as well. I had the phenomenal opportunity to study voice with the renowned Irish soprano, Dr. Angela Feeney, who was the first Irish soprano signed with the Munich State Opera. I have maintained a private studio whenever possible. We moved to Texas in 2012, and I have been delighted to get to work with some truly wonderfully talented singers in Brazos Valley.

when are you open?
My hours are currently Tues-Wed, 10am-3pm. Masterclasses are generally held starting at 4pm.
What are flex lessons?
Flex lessons are weeks when you can show up to your lesson . . . or not! Some students will be healthy all year and be able to make it to every lesson, including the flexes. However, some won't, or will have an unavoidable conflict at some point. Since I have a no-cancellation policy, having the flex lessons can provide a bit of cushion. Yay for the flexes!
Make-ups/cancellations?
See "What are flex lessons?" The studio does not offer make-up lessons or refunds for cancellations.
